A Special Sight in the Skies Tonight!…

This evening, families across Leicestershire will have the opportunity to see a partial solar eclipse, as the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun.
For our area, the eclipse is expected to begin at around 6:15pm, reach its maximum at approximately 7:11pm, and finish shortly after 8:00pm.
It’s a brilliant opportunity to spark curiosity about science, space and the world around us – but if you’re planning to watch from home, please do so safely. Never look directly at the Sun, and ordinary sunglasses are not suitable protection. Certified eclipse glasses or an indirect viewing method, such as a pinhole projector, should be used instead.
Enjoy the eclipse and stay safe…
