Maple Life Skills: Learning in the Community…
Maple students recently enjoyed a visit to a local garden centre, where they were given a budget and challenged to compare prices, consider their choices and explore what represents good value for money.
Looking at the fish was a particular highlight! Students also discussed what would be needed to care for a koi as a pet, encouraging plenty of practical thinking and conversation.
The next step will be a visit to a supermarket, where students will compare the price and quality of food with the options available at a food court. These real-world experiences are a valuable way to develop confidence, independence and everyday decision-making skills.
