Oakwood Community School
Plan B of the Covid-19 Response: Autumn and Winter Plan.
The Government has set out a number of additional measures across society to control transmission of COVID-19.
Here are some of the key messages that we will be supporting at Oakwood Community School and we ask you to do the same.
- The Government will prioritise keeping all education settings open and school attendance remains mandatory.
- Face coverings must be worn by pupils in year 7 and above when travelling on transport.
- Testing: staff and students should regularly LFD test and report results. Any visitors should LFD test before coming to the school.
- A close contact of the Omicron variant will be required to self-isolate, irrespective of vaccination status and age.
By working together we hope to keep the school a safe and healthy place to be, thank you for your support.
If you are meeting family this Christmas and need to do a PCR test at any point here is a link to an easy read advice leaflet.
Oakwood School strives to offer the best possible care and education for its pupils. We pride ourselves on being creative and innovative and never settling for anything less than excellence. We endeavour to create a community where intimacy, warmth and trust is nurtured to provide a level of care that enables children to feel safe and respected, leading to long-term learning achievement.
At Oakwood we believe every child is unique, and this ethos is the starting point and at the heart of everything we do. Implementing this belief is a highly skilled and experienced staff team who work closely with our partners from health and social care to develop truly personalised learning programmes, reflecting our pupil’s individual needs. Through their delivery of these our staff are totally dedicated to ensuring the very best outcomes for your child.
We firmly believe that equality and mutual respect for all is essential. We uphold those values that help everyone embrace those people and children with different faiths, lifestyles and beliefs.
In return for offering the highest quality support and opportunities we, in turn, have high standards and expectations in terms of the all-round development and behaviour of our pupils. Complementing this is a culture that will always celebrate achievement and success at all levels.
As you begin your journey in finding a school for your child, we encourage you to contact the school to arrange a time to look around. We are a Social and Emotional Health School also dealing with ASD issues on a daily basis. If you do have any questions, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
We hope you will enjoy looking through the pages of this website. It represents a small part of the work that we do, but will hopefully give you an insight into what can be achieved when teachers believe in the children in their care, and the children, in turn, come to believe in them.
